Any hints on how to go about setting up a sutom unit dBm decibel with respect to milliwatt
x dBm = 10^(x/10)mW
x dBm = 10^(x/10)mW

Hello,
Here is a possible solution to your problem. Translating between dBm and mW. There is no simple relation between these units like Unit1=k*Unit2 (k = constant) and we have to use functions in this case.

Given functions are defined as 'dBm(.. and 'mW(... in order to see them as units (in blue color).
Regards,
Radovan

Can this be defined so that dBm(2 mW) = 3.01, and mW(3 dBm) = 2 mW, with units inside both function calls?

Has this situation changed now that there are nonlinear units? http://en.smath.info/forum/default.aspx?g=posts&m=13396#post13396
I'd also like to use dBV, dBu, dBm, etc. in the natural way

Any update on this?
