No problem here. You have misspelled the function.
The equality for 3*4 or 4*k is next to matrix element.
It has to be next to matrix, whole of it.

but correct for other application(s) ... StripX(data).

Use your arguments separator for this.
This works also for vectors but not for matrices.

It depends on your setting.
Its setting is under Tools > Options.
I use semicolon, default is comma I guess.
