I am doing a beam loading problem and I want to make up my own smath file to do so. The beam calculator on this website is very good, and usefull and the plots are nice. I just am learning the program and want to program an example myself.

how do you use heaviside step functions or singularity functions?

i wrote out a quick "if" statement to get the heaviside function to kind of work.

also how do you plot a function? like Q(x) for example

Hi,
I work with SMath in beam problems and I use my own version of Singularity Functions.
It´s very simple:
[MATH]fsin(x;a;n)x-a)^n*(x>a)*(n≥0)[/MATH]

So, if you need a heavyside function, n=0. For a ramp function n=1, and so on.
In this file you can view a complete example for a 3 support loaded beam.

there are some errors dues to units congruency
