The hotkeys Ctrl B, I and U, however, work. Thus it seems to be just a GUI glitch.

Here is another bug. Seems to apply to the previous version (9126) as well. Disclaimer: This is just an example imported from an excel sheet. Writing units in square brackets is not standard-conforming.
