New book available for purchase. https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-658-50592-9

Find the supplementary material (worksheets for all examples) at https://github.com/sn-code-inside/Technische-Mechanik-mit-SMath. It is currently in German only, Upload of a trilingual version (German, English, Russian) will follow, yet the Russian version for now won't be verified against decent mechanics books from Russia. Just an AI translation.

I recommend to purchase the pdf instead of the paper copy because the latter is in black and white even though it was promised in color Should be available at all universities licensing Springerlink.

EDIT: The publisher announced that printing on demand will be in color.

I shall aproach Lan publisher in St. Peterburg for a Russian edition. Springer Nature returned me the rights for this because they can't license it themselves due to sanctions.
In parallel, I am working on an English edition (at Springer).

Hi Martin,

Congratulations and Thanks!
I’ve already bought the pdf, even if my German is poor enough.
It's an excellent idea to put together many subjects linked to SMath.
Waiting for the English and, why not for the French edition.

Regards,
Ioan

Thanks, Ioan.

I am just proof-reading the English and Russian translations of the worksheets on Github. Actually I can ask my student assistant to generate a raw French translation using AI (as he does with Russian without understanding a single word). The quality is really good, there are only minor glitches.
A Spanish version might be a good idea as well, as we use to have Mexican exchange students from Tec de Monterrey.

Best regards, Martin

Currently I am working on the English translation of the book. I decided to also switch to period as decimal separator and comma as list separator, therefore most screenshots had to be updated.

While also updating the supplementary material (worksheets) I faced the challenge to efficiently make trilingual sheets including X-Y plots with labels and series names being language-adaptive. This ended up in a nice small AI exercise done with Anthropic Claude. After some iterations the process runs reasonable smoothly. Give the worksheet to AI and get back a version with all plot annotations being adaptive.

Probably this will be obsolete in the future, once X-Y Plot region could have its built-in multilingual feature.

If you want to use the procedure in any AI, give it the skill document and the python script attached below. Also, there is an example worksheet. I did not run it on all my worksheets, so use it with all due care.
The skill document (markdown text) is actually an auto-generated human readable description of the procedure which you can follow by hand.

The supplementary material has been updated. The worksheets now should have consistent texts in DE, EN, RU, including annotations in X-Y Plot regions.

https://github.com/sn-code-inside/Technische-Mechanik-mit-SMath/tree/main/1st%20edition%2C%20trilingual%20worksheets

Note that the worksheets had to be made with SMath 1.4. because the most recent 1.5 has a broken native 2D plot region, leading to loss of range settings when reading worksheet files or when pasting a region from the clipboard.
