Hello,

Pay attention when using dot in the variable name ( z and z. are not the same - unfortunately, a common mistake). The nice thing about SMath is that when you click on the variable in a math region, then all the instances of the same variables will become gray - just use this please in order to see the mistakes of the kind like invisible dot at the end of a variable.

Please find the answer in the corrected example - Example corrected

How did you do a double subscript el(z.eg.i) in the "Example corrected" worksheet above? Thanks.

It is the same like in Mathcad. The dot in the variable name will not be visible - but it will make so called "literate subscript". It is the part of a variable name. That is different than the el() function which gives the array subscript (row,collumn position in a Matrix). Therefore the variable you mentioned
[MATH=eng]el(z.eg,i)[/MATH]
has been obtained by typing z.eg[i or el(z.eg,i)

Thanks,

Really sorry, I seem to be having two problems, not sure how I can get round them in the most simple way using SMath. I have uploaded the SMath studio file at the following link
