Version 1.1 DEMO is a version of LightPipes for Mathcad optical toolbox with limited cababilities (64x64 grid). It can be runned when Mathcad is installed on your computer under Windows 95, 98, or NT. Mathcad versions: PLUS 6.0, 7 Professional, 8 Professional, 2000 Professional.

It can be used and freely distributed to get an impression of the capabilities of this optical tool box.

Before installation, be sure that Mathcad is not running.

Mathcad 2001i Professional:
We made a new installer for the Mathcad versions from Mathcad 2001i Professional.
Download and execute the appropriate executable. Help will be avalable in the Insert Function in Mathcad, You can open a Handbook with information about LightPipes from the Mathcad Help.

Old Mathcad versions:
You need to specify the directory where you installed
Mathcad.

Mathcad default directories:
Mathcad 6 PLUS: c:\winmcad
Mathcad 7 Professional: c:\Program Files\Mathsoft\Mathcad 7 Professional
Mathcad 8 Professional: c:\Program Files\Mathsoft\Mathcad 8 Professional
Mathcad 2000 Professional: c:\Program Files\Mathsoft\Mathcad 2000 Professional

INSTALLATION:
1. If not installed on your computer INSTALL WINZIP
2. IN WINDOWS EXPLORER: DOUBLE CLICK ON LPMmcadDEMO.ZIP;
3. IN WINZIP: PUSH THE INSTALL BUTTON.
For the newer Mathcad versions:
Type the short DOS name in the installer when prompted: c:\Progra~1\Mathsoft\Mathca~1

WinZip can be downloaded from: http://www.winzip.com

WinZip extracts a temporary directory and executes the install.exe command.
Follow the instructions that appear on the screen (DOS window).
The installation program asks for the directory where you installed your
copy of Mathcad (default: c:\winmcad for the 6 PLUS version), creates directories:
....\winmcad\lphelp and ....\winmcad\lpexamp for the examples and help
files, and copies these files to their directories.
After that, the dynamic library file, lpdemo.dll, is copied to Mathcad's
.....\winmcad\userefi directory.

The LightPipes for Mathcad functions will be available to you the next
time you start Mathcad.

Mathcad 6 PLUS:
You can check with the Math, Choose Function commands in Mathcad for the
presence of the LightPipes functions. A short describtion of each function
and its arguments is given in this window. Also you can open the
...\winmcad\lphelp\lphelp.mcd program for more details. You can browse
through the functions by double-clicking on the bold under-lined function
names apearing in the help programs. Please close the windows after use,
because Mathcad can open only a limited number of windows at the same time.

Mathcad 7, 8, 2000 Professional:
Here you can insert a LightPipes for Mathcad command by choosing insert function from the menu. Unfortunately no help will be displayed because Mathsoft altered the organization of help. We have changed this in the full version of LightPipes for Mathcad for the Mathcad 2000 Professional version.
Help in the DEMO version can be obtained, however, by opening c:\winmcad\lphelp\lphelp.mcd.

This version will also run with Mathcad PLUS 5.0. However, the examples
and help files are written for Mathcad PLUS 6.0 and will not run in the
5.0 version. You have to type your own Mathcad programs.

Mathcad 5.0 and 6.0, 7, 8, 2000 cannot be used with LightPipes for Mathcad because
user written dll's can only be used with the PLUS or Professional versions of Mathcad.

To remove LightPipes for Mathcad from your disk you must delete:
.....\winmcad\userefi\lpdemo.dll (dll file)
.....\winmcad\lphelp (LightPipes help directory)
.....\winmcad\lpexamp (LightPipes examples directory)

Please contact Fred van Goor or Gleb Vdovin if you find bugs in the programs.
