I propose to equip the installer with a plugin selector feature.
This would be a button list of the available plugins with some pre-defined choices:
- all/none
- basic
- stable
- advanced...
Include a space requirement forecast.
You choose the plugins and then start the installation. This is much better than being tied to the computer by downloading them step by step
